My Adversarial Body

This post follows on from Out of Sorts.

RosaceaI wouldn’t say my body has always been my enemy, but certainly an adversary. Starting with extreme colic as an infant, then chronic throat and ear infections, moving onto parasitic infections, and excruciating belly pain and diarrhea.

For giggles, we can throw in severe acne that has left my back a mass of scar tissue. Then finally moving onto an entire adulthood of rosacea.

My jaw was so underslung and my upper teeth so bucked, with my mouth shut my upper and lower molars touched by only a few milometers.

So, yes, the relationship with my body has been strained.
